In Libby, MT, take State Rt. 37 north 15 miles to McGillivray Recreation Area sign (Forest Rt. 228). Turn left at sign onto Rt. 228 and go 10.2 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign and go 0.5 miles to the campground.
I was just telling my buddy about "the vault"..... you find history in the strangest places.
Great short walk to a cold war era leftover. Bring your headlamp and flashlight.
This is quite a beautiful canyon. McGillivray Canyon is not listed here, but you park in the same parking lots. We took the low route at the bottom of the canyon. This is a fun hike with a bit of an obstacle coarse. This trail is not for everyone. Some of the obstacles can be challenging. Spikes are highly recommended. We recorded 13.6KM and 326M of elevation gain.
