Nice place to sleep close to a few of my hunting spots!
Went back the following weekend and there where other campers in the spot I had reserved already had there camper set up and lounging, it was a simple scheduling error on the website the couple had thought they booked 2 nights but mistakenly had only selected 1.
The park manager figured out What was going on and got us upgraded to the equestrian area at no extra charge which will be my new site selection going forward as it's beautiful on that side of the park.
We've done a group camp trip here two years in a row. We like sites # 10,15,&14 . They are water front but near a canal of shallow water for the kidos.
This year the women's shower in the bathroom was overflowing with sewer water all the way out to the toilets ..none of us could use the shower It was pretty gross .
The front gate man was not too customer service friendly .
Overall we will be back because of lake Whitney water !
We camped (site 60) here two times (October and December) and had a great time. The shower/bathroom/trash area is close by. It is not crowded, and the environment is clean. Pups had a great time swimming. There are horse stalls, boat ramp, hiking areas, swimming area, playground, grills... Our camp site had water, picnic table, and a beautiful view. It is pretty easy to book online, pay, and check in. Gate closes at 10 pm and opens around 6 am. We will come back again :)
Very clean, I pick up trash when I see it but it's rather rare. It's clear people respect the land. Ran into many friendly folks on the beach, who were so nice even when the elderly dog in our group kept coming over to them. Great park.
This is one of my favorite little parks on Lake Whitney. The sand beach is wonderful and the spots for RVs are always full because they don't put them on top of each other but are spaces throughout the park.
The trails for horses are also decent for walking.
My only complaint is during summer season it's insanely busy and I like it so much during the off season when there's almost nobody else there.
