Tuckahoe Creek, a quiet country stream bordered for most of its length by wooded marshlands, runs through the length of the park. A 60-acre lake offers boating and fishing.
The park has 20 miles of scenic hiking, biking and equestrian trails, flat water canoeing, hunting, picnicking, as well as a recycled tire playground for children.
Activities include day camps, canoe trips, Scales & Tales presentations and displays. Each weekend, Memorial Day through Labor Day, park staff offer a number of free family activities. Check out flyers posted throughout the park or call the park office for more details.
Accessible picnic areas, visitors' center, playgrounds, restrooms, campground facilities, and hunting areas are very popular.
Beautiful place to visit if you have time. We could have spent all day there and not even got to see it all
Absolutely adore the park here. My father use to bring me and my siblings. Now we bring all our kids here. My daughter absolutely loves it! Some of the best trails to hike and playground to play on. It is a shame that the camp ground isn't a walkable distance. We had to drive back and forth when we stayed. But as far as a day trip, picnic, or birthday party place, I highly recommend!!
Tuckahoe is a wonderful park! It's so peaceful with so much to offer. They have different activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, camping or renting a canoe. I can't wait to kayak here! Also features a lake, disc golf, volleyball courts, tire playground and restrooms. Plenty of secluded spots and pretty trails. I witnessed so much wildlife! A lot of Easter eggs too if you keep your eyes open 👀 what a cool spot. Really beautiful scenery. Also perfect place for some quiet time & to unwind. I'm excited for my next trip!
It was quiet and the trails were fun to walk. Also had a few places to sit and relax. Walked to Adkins aboretum to get a quick snack and also purchased a hat because of it being cold!
We stayed in a cabin for a weekend. There were stink bugs getting in through the door. There wasn't much of a seal around it. The showers were alright except for the mat on the floor. It hurt my feet as I forgot my flip-flops. I think one of the toilets was leaking because the bathroom floor was always wet. At first, I thought it was from people tracking in rain water, but the rest of the weekend was dry, but the floor was still wet.
The area is gorgeous! The trees were changing colors. It was relatively quiet. There were kids running around, including my own. It was just what I needed.
We even went to the aviary at the suggestion of the lady in the tiny camp store. I love owls, and there were three.
Maybe in the spring we'll come back for the gardens.
