Located three miles south of Thurmont off Route 15.
Beautiful park, lake and waterfall right off the main road. We were traveling and happened to see the signs. We took the 1/2 mile hike to the falls and explored the grounds a bit. It was about an hour pit stop and if we had our swimming suits it would have been longer to take a dip in the nice big lake. Perfect picnic spot
We stayed at Bear Branch and it was lovely. The portable water was clean and cool, showers were nice and check in was seamless. Our independence day weekend was perfect thanks to the people who keep Cunningham Falls State Park the way it is.
Acceptable campground. The platforms are fully rock which is not great for tent camping. Many spots are located in very close proximity to each other. The location is very convenient for many parks in the area.
Weekend camping trip with family. Our first time here. Campground is spacious and well kept. Area is beautiful. You can walk from camp sites to trails that lead to other trails. We are definitely coming back here again.
Having grown up in MoCo this park was part of my childhood. Such a serene and beautiful day there.
