From US-50/301 exit 27 to MD-450 South to the traffic light. Turn left on MD-648 to traffic light entrance to Naval Station. Continue on Kinkaid Rd. for about .6 miles. Turn right through the gate of two large anchors onto Beach Rd. This is the campground entrance. The office is on past the campground entrance about .5 miles on the right. Go past the unmanned guard shack that is past the CG entrance. Go to the LEFT of the guard shack and on down the hill. The first big brick building on the right is the rec center where you check in and pay. Call in advance and they will assign you a site and let you get set up before you have to check in. Parking at the rec center is not RV friendly so take something other than the RV
Ten of us made plans to have dinner at Middleton's before taking a short cruise from the Annapolis harbor for New Year's 2020. Thinking it would be a late night we decided to stay in Annapolis. Two of our friends are retired Navy and suggested the Navy Getaway. They procured 5 rooms all which were excellent.
Our facility was a 2 room suite with a living room area and separate bedroom which we used to host a get together before going to dinner.
Check in was good with great recommendations offered by the friendly staff.
Our suite was excellent, well kept and nicely decorated. The bed was super comfortable and made for a good sleep after our New Year's celebration.
Highly recommend if you are military or have friends that are.
If you are looking for a lot of character in your room and want to be right on Naval Academy grounds, this is the place to be. Depending on arrival time, be prepared to check yourself in. Much like an air bnb you will be provided with instructions of location, code etc. The MWR staff manning the front desk, during operating hours, is very personable, professional and helpful. Personally, I prefer accommodations with a kitchenette, but a small refrigerator, coffee maker and a microwave made the stay comfortable enough. There may be a common area (kitchen) with a sink to wash dishes, but I did not further investigate.
This is our third time staying here. We love it. The staff are very helpful and courteous. Marisol did a great job keeping us updated with any changes and the entire staff was so positive and upbeat. The rooms do need some updating but the location is great. We stayed here because one of our kids was attending a sports camp.
