MAC Campground is on 3 acres just a hundred feet or so off of the coast! We currently have 8 campsites.
A very family friendly Campground. A great place for fishing and scalloping. Lots of public hunting ground so if you love deer, turkey or wild pig hunting, this is the place for you!
Keaton Beach is a beautiful beach also! Beautiful white sand and very friendly people. I suggest downloading a tide app so you can watch the tides daily. When the tide is at it's highest is the best time for swimming and when they are low it's difficult to swim because it's only a couple foot of water but that is a great time to go exploring! Water shoes are great if you're nervous about walking in the grassy waters. The beach turns grassy a couple hundred feet out. Dogs are not allowed on the beach but we have some spots close to us that your doggo can swim and cool off from the heat.
Our canal is a good place for the dogs to swim too!
Our private canal is great and you are welcome to fish in it. Red Fish and Spotted Trout have both been caught in here!
There is also a small private boat ramp that you can rent from the owner. It's $200 a year and this will save you from waiting on the very long lines at Keaton Boat Ramp. A great option for people that are wanting to stay long term or coming down multiple weekends throughout the year. The phone number for the boat ramp rental is 850-584-9324! They do require you to sign a waiver and keep a key to use the ramp.
My wife Jessica and I fulltime in our RV and will be staying at the Campground the majority of the year. We have two wonderful kids Maverick (12) and Charley (10). Hince where MAC comes from! We all enjoy the outdoors and love to be around fun people. We are currently getting our Captains license and would love to charter you on a scallop adventure, on your dream off shore fishing trip or just going out after Reds and Trout! We are excited to host you and our aim is to make sure you have the time of your life while you visit us here at MAC Campground in Cedar Island! See you soon!!
If staying at sites 1-4 go down Cedar Island Rd and turn right on Sandpiper Rd, then turn right on Tern so you can back into the Sites. If staying at sites 5-8 go down Cedar Island Rd and turn right on Egret Ln, Then you can pull into to the sites right after you pass Tern Rd.
This is a small familyrun campground, 8 sites. Everything is new. Full hook up for only 35 USD!. Very nice family. They even lend us their kayaks, and we had a wonderfull trip to the beach through the small canals. We will surely be back, if in the area.
Update: Got a call from owner day of post and he said he would send a check but still have not seen payment.
Contractors - Beware of the new owners of this campground the Flatin's. They don't like to pay their invoices. They used to live right across the bridge from Dubuque Iowa. We are an Electrical contractor and we have done work for them and they left town. I have left messages on Luke's phone but now the messages are full and you can't leave anymore messages. I have reached out to Jessica and she gave me her new address but no longer is answering me. So just beware about doing any business with them.
This is a beautiful campground a few minutes away from the hustle of all the tourist rentals. It was a much quieter area and had room to spread out. I was there on a weekday in February and it was just me and the camp host. Sarah was very accommodating and fun to chat with.
I tent camped for just $10 a night. There were no toilets or trash cans. But for RVs this would be a great place since there are full hook ups available.
