From I-605, take the Katella Ave exit (about .75 miles North of the I-405 interchange), heading East. Go 1.5 miles to Lexington Drive and turn right (South) to the gate. Go straight after the gate and turn left on Saratoga. Go to the end. To go to the check-in office (Bldg 19), turn right onto Independence, then right into the parking lot. To go to the campground from Saratoga, turn left, go 1/2 a block, then left again into the campground.
Came over for a baby shower at the hall here. Easy to find the base entrance difficult to find the building. Salute the hero's.
No amenities available, the entire lot is dirt so it gets very, very muddy. I do not recommend.
Honestly, this is far from a “campground”. I’m a very optimistic person and after just 2 nights here it’s hard to see any good about this place. It’s depressing. It’s dirty, not kept up at all. Has no amenities, not even a dumpster to discard your normal household trash. As active duty military with 3 young children this is a sad place. I hope my kids don’t remember this campground when we think of our adventure doing rv life. Our 6 year old without us saying one negative thing about it because our attitude is life is what you make it.. said she “doesn’t want to live here… everything is dead. This place is just dead” and well many know kids speak high volumes of truth. It really does blow my mind that this base is allowed to call this a “campground” and collect money from military members.
