It's sounds like a truly wonderful place. But the dirt road that starts immediately off Grand Ave is full of potholes the size of craters on Mars. I could not navigate my sedan through and turned around. Afraid of getting a flat or breaking the axle. You need a serious 4 wheel drive offroad vehicle or dune buggy. I'm sad, but it sounds like a wonderful place if you have the right vehicle. Guess I'm back to the local Farmers Markets.
This family run Avocado and Citrus u-pick is a great day out with friends and family! They have a large lot with tons of fruit trees on the property. They also have their free range chickens just roaming around and hanging out with you when your searching for your avocados.
The road to the location does get steep and is a dirt path. They recommend an AWD vehicle, and I would agree. It isn’t required, but I did have my one of my AWD spin free at one point because of the gap the recent rain caused.
Remember to bring your own bag/container for storing your treasures!
I spent around 3 hours at the grove, and there is a decent amount of parking that can probably fit 20-30 cars.
