Lone Mesa Group Sites are ideal for large gatherings such as school groups or family reunions. Within close proximity to national parks and open space, outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and four-wheel drive tours in the surrounding area. Lone Mesa is 1,000 feet higher in elevation than Moab, which can mean slightly cooler temperatures. The town of Moab is approximately 30 minutes away and has dining, shopping, sports rentals, tour companies and museums.
From Lone Mesa there are multiple options for mountain biking, hiking, scenic tours, backcountry off-highway vehicle driving and photography. The area has many four-wheel drive roads leading to canyons and vistas. Nearby Canyonlands and Dead Horse Point State Park have many trails for hiking, biking and OHV driving.
The group areas have fire grates, picnic tables, vault toilets, shade shelters and large parking areas. The group sites do not have water, dump stations or electric hook-ups. Larger vehicles fit well at this site.
The views from Lone Mesa will set you on the path to explore the nearby canyons and mesas. You are close to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Dead Horse Point State Park, Gemini Bridges, the White Rim trail and the Green River.
Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Dead Horse Point State Park, Gemini Bridges Road and trails, and Mineral Bottom (the Green River boat ramp) are all within close proximity. Groups heading into Canyonlands National Park to ride the White Rim trail often use this site for camping before and after their trip. L

The Lone Mesa Group Campsites are located approximately 17 miles northwest of Moab, Utah. Drive nine miles north of Moab on Highway 191 to the intersection with Highway 313. If you are coming from the north, the Highway 313 intersection is approximately 20 miles south of I-70. Turn west on Highway 313 and continue eight miles, then turn right on the Dubinky Road, a graded road (it has a stop sign), and go approximately 200 yards to the entrance of the Lone Mesa Campground. Turn right and proceed up a small hill to the site
Group Site A $130; Group Site B $130; Group Site C $150; Group Site D $130; Group Site E $130
Very clean and well maintained bathrooms with a great view of Lone Mesa. Nice that it's a little off the road so quiet
Great group camping area, well maintained by BLM staff. Short quick hike to Navajo Rocks.
Lone Mesa is a treat. It's outside the hustle and bustle of Moab and has direct access to great mountain biking, 4x4 trails, and hiking. Among many other things the bathrooms were extraordinarily clean, the group campsites were spacious. I feel like I should get a bulleted list of great things to say about this spot but I'll leave the rest to you to uncover for yourself. Go... Do... It...You won't be disappointed.
Primitive campground on the outskirts of Moab. Not much in the way of shade, but a beautiful place to watch the sun rise or enjoy the sunset. A lot of folks will camp with RV’s while there, but we chose to tent it on a young men’s adventure. We were able to enjoy the beauty of Moab during the day, and head back to the seculsion of Lone Mesa at night.
It was overall a good experience. If you're looking for shade, this is not the campground for you. But it's a good central location for a lot of major mountain bike trails. I'd camp here again.
