The Lava Flow Campground is a 42-site campground accessible by automobile from May through November. All sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Some sites will accommodate large RVs, but no hookups are available.
Located on the Loop Road 1/4 mile past the visitor center.
Lava Campground is probably one of our favorite sites that we have been to. The grounds are so cute and inviting! It truly felt like a little piece of heaven. The retro campers look like so much fun, but we brought our own trailer. Easy hookups, great amenities and option for early or late check in. The restrooms are well maintained. I was highly impressed. It's 2 minute drive into town. The perfect location!
The amenities here are wonderful. The camp host was warm welcome and friendly and greeted us upon our arrival to the campground. We purchased some firewood with venmo. My kids absolutely loved the playground. So much so they didn't want to even go to any of the other activities in town. My parents stayed in the studio apartment. It is more than accommodating and very luxurious for the price and location. The restrooms and showers in the center of the campground are very nice very clean and obviously modern. The people in charge of this entire Campground put a lot of effort thought time and consideration to every choice they make. We will 100% be coming back here again and again. I am beyond pleased with the value of our experience here and I'm thrilled to be spending at least another night and day here. Our kids are happy. The wife is happy. The grandparents are happy.
