Nice state park right off the Interstate. We were in the upper campground which had lots of road noise. Lower campgrounday be quieter. Nice hiking trails with beautiful views of the Snake River. Good biking on the acces road and road to Register Rock. Great sense history as it is right on the Oregon Trail route.
Beautiful park. Nicely wooded campsite. Crazy amount of flies while we cooked dinner over a campfire. Our site had a nice campfire ring and large picnic table. There was a nice clean bath house very close to our campsite as well. Nice little trails to walk around with a beautiful view of the snake river.
Awesome scenery. Rained on us. What part of arid did the sky not understand? Rubbing a little sage made a wonderful aroma. I can see why the Native Americans liked this bush. And the lichen and moss! I am fascinated by them.
We had a great time camping overnight here! Great staff at the visitor’s center that helped us get checked in. They sell ice and wood there for good prices. We really loved our campsite location. We could see the river in both directions out of camp. Super clean bathrooms and really decent showers that are all lit at night. Every site has water and electricity with both RV hookups and regular outlets. A little road noise but the sounds of crickets drowns it out at night. Absolutely beautiful area and quite a few areas to fish. We enjoyed hiking all over the park and everything was close to our site. If you like to play disc golf, they have two courses. If you want to try, they sell discs in the visitor’s center. Over all a super fun and family friendly place to stay! We will be going back every year.
