Wildcat Falls is an easy, kid friendly hike. The location is not exactly accurate. Park at the Flat Laurel Creek pullover just past the Parkway. Follow the trail until you reach a big curved concrete bridge. As with many waterfalls, it is better when the water levels are higher but still a great falls and short hike.
An easy hike from a small turn off marked with a camping sign. The Google gps location isn't quite right; it takes you too far north. The kids loved it. There's a creek crossing early that's the best place to splash. Then a small waterfall, then on up the trail the actual falls which are really tall. You're there when you get the big concrete bridge.
Great short walk. Its not hard at all we took our 3 yr old nephew. The waterfall itself does not have a watering hole not can you really climb down from the bridge to the water, not safe. BUT if you enter from Hwy 215 you will have to cross the water on stepping stone, good little spot to get feet wet or let the little little ones to sit in the water, go further and you will walk past a little waterfall where you can get your feet wet again and kids can sit and get wet.
Easy stroll trough high-elevation plush forest. The Falls are light in the dry season, but in the cool wet months it's roaring. Very close to the Parkway.
Awesome winter hike! Trailhead from Campground leads to the Lost Bridge at The Falls, continue up to Stone Heart, and only a short distance to the Overlook of the Upper Valley.
