Located 2 miles east of the town of Lake Bronson, the park access is on County Highway 28.
We spent three nights at the Lakeside campground and it was very packed and loud our first night. There is no privacy. Once the weekenders left it became much more enjoyable. We did some hiking but not as much as we would have liked, be careful the ticks are really bad.
Definitely worth a trip to this state park. Don't have much experience with the drive in campground other than a quick walk through but highly recommended the hike in locations. River Sandhole is right on the trail so if you want to have privacy then I would go with either Old Ranch or River Meadow. For the hammockers reading this, both those two also have good trees for a 12' hammock or 2.
Beautiful park. Groves of oak trees and a very diverse ecosystem of wildlife to observe around the lake. The campsites are great and well maintained. Great hiking and a quiet campground. A hidden gem in North West Minnesota. Worth the trip.
