I visited the park with the intention to run as many of the trails as I could.
Pros: Stunning scenery, well run park, the Chase Point trail is A++, and the rangers were some of the nicest I’ve ever met anywhere. Really appreciative of their help and I loved the views over the lake.
Cons: With the exception of the Chase Point Trail, pretty much all others were very overgrown, incredibly buggy, and tough to get through. Disappointed that these were not more well maintained.
A very nice park! Old growth pine woods, walkable trails, and top-notch facilities.
My kids loved all the beautiful walking paths along the lake. We used the canoe rental and had an easy time fishing. The fishing dock was also very accommodating. The campsites were all clean and easy to use. Everything was ideal for a family camping trip.
Hiked the fire tower trail and one other. The scenery was amazing. Lady slippers were in bloom in June. The walk was quite beautiful. Birds were singing from the trees and Hou could hear the drumming of grouse through the forest. Beautiful forest helpful staff.
