We were so lucky that a random booking at the Kenai Riverfront Resort has "netted" us some new friends and many return trips! Jim and Cindy have made us feel like family each and every time we come to stay, but we consider it a "visit". Upon our arrival, Cindy made sure we had a nice snack to revive us....and Jim is enthusiastic about the fabulous fishing to be found on the world-class Kenai River. Our room was spacious and looked right out at the river. You can fish from their riverbank and you'll pull in some winners! Plus we love the Sauna, (Sow-Na :)which they are happy to heat up for anyone game for a sweat! It is a peaceful location and the Nelson Family are all great people. Once, when I slept through a ride to a fishing date, Cindy graciously gave me a ride, in her pajamas! I should have snapped a photo! You will cherish your time at the Kenai Riverfront Resort! My Wife and I ended our Alaskan RV Trip with Jim & Cindy @ The Kenai Riverfront Resort. It was a great end to an already great trip. We highly recommend the Resort. Why?

Location, location, location - You are literally on the river, steps away from your RV. You can fish anytime you want.

Amenities - Tired of showering/bathing in your RV? Use the shower up at the house AND try out the true Finnish sauna...just make sure your pronounce it "sounah" :)

Fishing - If you're new to fishing the Kenai, Jim & Cindy will give you all the pointers you need. You can also rent all the equipment you will need if you don't have your own. There is a filleting station RIGHT ON THE RIVER. I can't tell you how cool it was to not only catch fish, but then to simply walk them over to the filet station and watch/learn as Jim filleted the fish (they will also help you pack/freeze it for the trip home). All for reasonable prices.

Lastly, the Hospitality - Jim & Cindy are wonderful hosts. If you need any pointers on fishing, eating, hiking, ANYTHING Alaska, I'd bet they would be able to point you in the right direction...and they're more than happy to do so.

Thank you Jim & Cindy for such a wonderful time and we hope to see you again.

Matt & Marisa

Super Lage und eine ganz wunderbar herzliche Eigentümerfamilie. Der geräucherte Lachs hier ist ein Traum. Man kann natürlich auch selber angeln. Sehr saubere Sanitärräume.

Update 2020: we planned to come back and contacted Jim early this year. From the beginning it felt like coming back to friends that we haven't seen for a while. Jim and his family were super helpful helping us to plan our trip to the Kenai Peninsula with must-see and must-do tips. Unfortunately COVID-19 crossed out our plans and we must stay at home this year. Again, Jim was very responsive and flexible to find solutions to satisfy our needs, now that we can't travel this year. Thanks a lot!

We keep looking forward to come back as soon as possible. Hopefully not only to do some fishing, but also to do some catching :-)

This was absolutely the highlight of mine and my parents trip to Alaska! The Nelson family are the sweetest people ever (including the famous cat, Dasher). When you stay with them.. you aren’t just their guests, you become part of a family. They are so so so friendly and absolutely outstanding altogether. Tj and Cj are amazing with helping those who need it and are a success in running the “Snack and Tack”. The boys were so friendly and polite to my family and I, I know I’ll miss them along with Jim and his wife, Cindy. This family goes the extra mile to make sure everyone is having a blast and an amazing time. Everyone who stays at the Riverfront eventually becomes one big family. Whether it’s sitting around the community campfire or helping your neighbor net a fish.. everyone becomes a giant community. I know I made some amazing memories here and I will for sure be back sometime in my lifetime. The Kenai Riverfront definitely made my Alaskan vacation.. The Alaskan Dream. Thank you so much for everything Jim, Cindy, Tj and Cj! I will never forget what I learned and the memories from your family. Thank you so much!

Fabulous spot. Beautiful property right on one of the best fishing spots on the river. We Fished for Kings and Reds right from shore and we also chartered a boat an guide, caught a couple of 40lb King Salmons. You can also rent fishing rods and equipment, the expert fishing owners and sons showed us how to fish the river with success. Family run by a welcoming and super accommodating couple and their two sons. They helped us plan our one week stay with on and off site activities, including fjord boat tours and halibut fishing. We have been on the road for six weeks and this was by far our best week of our extended road trip. If you want a personalized experience this is a great spot.
