Located just a mile west of downtown Winfield on U.S. Highway 160 at 1105 W. Ninth.
The fairgrounds: fun during the Cowley County Fair, sure, but a lot more goes on down there. Winfield is famous for our Walnut Valley Festival known, as the "blue grass festival" to locals. That happens in Sept. In October we have a terrifying haunted house in one of the barns. In August Habitat for Humanity has a big one day sale/fundraiser. Throughout the year you might find flea markets and auctions. Be sure to drive by the horse barn and the beautiful clydesdales if they are outside.
The floods can't tear them down!!! Its always beautiful!! Were going through a dry spell but I thank God for the rain yesterday!!! It smelled clean seemed so bright down there!!! Not like when all the dirt dirt riffles it up... Enjoy Enjoy we are so blessed to have places like it!!!
Walnut valley festival is awesome. Great music great people, great volunteers and staff.
Beautiful setting by the Walnut River for camping. I have enjoyed going to the bluegrass festival, county fair, and steam engine show there over the years.
