We love University 40. It's a great quiet spot to take the kids. It's got a public bathroom and a large covered area with a fireplace.
Quiet little park. Has two fireplaces for cooking, a small rentable cabin, but not water and sadly outhouses or "pit toilets". Small Creek with a walking bridge crossing over it. Gets it's name from the 40 acres given to the county by Iowa State University which was one of the original land grant schools in the nation. Jeff
5* all the way. I am proud of the residents of Lohrville that they continue to make this park better and better every year! The University of 40 is so special to so many. Was there this past weekend. Makes me think of my dad. He loved it so much.
Great place to camp in the summer and sled in the winter. Clean, well kept and spacious. Nice big fire place in the shelter. Fairly new, very nice playground. Camping spots are electric too!
This park was wonderful. Plenty of trees and shaded areas to hang out. We went for the lions club pancake breakfast and it was great! It's a great place to bring young kids. Lots of room to run around.
