I have been to many campgrounds while making my way from NC to WI. Indian Springs campground has by far been the worst experience I have had since being on the road this year. My experience started at arrival. There was trash littered all over at the entrance of the park where the dumpsters are located at.(And remained throughout my stay)A little further down, I witnessed half burnt piles of trash, including lots of beer bottles mixed in with misc debris. Upon arrival at my site, I was greeted with two areas where past guests had uncontained fires with at least two packs of cigarette butts mixed into them. My site was also covered in goose feces front to back. Trying to look beyond this I set up my coach, only to find there was little to no connectivity. I tried my Starlink, VZ Mifi, and a multi band hot spot with no luck. As such, I had to travel offsite each day to work. Entering and exiting the park, I would be tailgated by locals irritated that I was only going the posted speed limit while they drove two or three times that speed in the their vehicles and on their golf carts. Reception from those who were obviously local were mixed, some giving a friendly nod as they passed, while the majority of others had no issues showing their dissatisfaction with my presence there, especially those who I observed operating their carts while drinking and were presumably intoxicated. On top of everything else I observed while staying at this park, Friday and Saturday nights were significantly worse in terms of the behavior exhibited by local/seasonal guests. Music was played at well beyond reasonable levels, until well after the stated quiet time outlined in the campground rules and regulations. My experience was so poor, I left the campground early. No refund was issued for those nights, not that I expected to receive one. Any of the staff I interacted with during my stay were generally apathetic, and did little to try and make all their guests comfortable during their stay. I would strongly reccomend finding somewhere else to stay, even if it meant not having full hook ups. The only positive part of my experience at this campground was leaving it.

If you want to fish.. good luck. Ponds are so dirty with muk and seaweed. Couldn’t find a clear spot. They have a raft for the swimmers to jump off but ladder broke off (who knows when) and it’s very hard to get on there. They gave us a flyer of the activities they had planned and then the next day they say it’s postponed? Also most cabins are on a cliff so not safe for toddlers. Only like 3 feet away from other cabin sites, NO PRIVACY. Karen’s next door be complaining about you.The staff told us to go find our own fire ring and bring it to our site from a empty site. Then finally one of the most fun things about the campground is the water slide! Was told it’d be open 12-4 only on sat and Sunday. They opened it at 1 on Saturday and didn’t even open up on Sunday. Not to mention kids have to pay 3$ to ride it, like your straight up “leaving out” kids whose parents won’t pay and that’s not nice. Staff was very rude at checkout and they didn’t even have T-shirt souvenirs, their store was a joke.

We needed a place to that was close to the zoo, so we chose Indian Springs. Prior to making reservations, I read the reviews and I found the negative reviews to be mostly false. #1 the employees that I dealt with were all nice and friendly. #2 The ponds do have some moss growing in them, but they are still fish able. My 8 year old daughter caught fish. In fact, this was the first time she baited, cast, caught and released on her own. #3 The sites aren't gravel or concrete and some were tight. We actually couldn't put our awning down due to trees, but we didn't need it down because the trees provided shade. We had rain throughout the night and the site was damp, but tolerable.

This place has large, mature trees and decent sized sites and is priced lower than many other campgrounds. We would stay here again.

As soon as we arrive we notice issues. At the gate the trash area is a complete mess. By the dumpsters trash is everywhere surrounding them in the woods scattered out, not to mention the awful smell that his when you arrive. We rented out the lodge but the whole time we faced issues with the stove and shower not working to dealing with uncleaned sheets. Absolutely disappointing for the price that was paid will never return.
