I fish and hunt waterfowl on this lake. It is extremely shallow. My boat will run aground just at the launch! But that is also when the level is lower. However, the lake is full of mil foil and other weeds. The channel going back to Hidden lake is choked out and almost inaccessible.
During the summer, the shallow warm waters attract jet skis and partys. Not very fun fishing getting 'buzzed' by drunk teens on jet skis! Ok fishing though. The parking lot needs to be much bigger. If campers are there, there is only about 3 spots to park a boat and trailer! Good luck!
I like fishing for crappie, bluegill, and pike. Did not catch any pike this trip and did not take a boat out to fish for crappie. Just did a little bank fishing and caught bluegill. Others I was fishing with caught bullheads and perch. Caught an 11 inch bluegill this trip so it made it worth the 3 1/2 hour drive to camp and fish.
Such a beautiful lake. Very quiet and peaceful. Loved the picnic area by the water
