The I’m on Vacation Retreat is an RV park tucked at the edge of the world in Shell Beach, LA. When you are in the middle of the expansive marsh, you would never know you are only 30 miles from the New Orleans French Quarter. Home of commercial shrimpers and oystermen, and the BEST INSHORE FISHING IN THE COUNTRY.

Take your pick on how you want to get away. Will you bring your own RV or Camper to one of our 21 Pad Sites? Or, will you rent the retreat camper (coming early 2022)? Coming in 2023, you will even be able to rent our vintage Nautaline Houseboat [yes, the one we took down the Mississippi River].
No matter how you want to get away, our cozy retreat will be the perfect home-base for experiencing South Louisiana’s marsh. And, once you arrive, you’ll know, this must be the place.
We came to this area because my husband wanted to do some fishing and we were both interested in learning a little about the area/swamp/delta. Brad and Margaret were super nice and accommodating and connected us with a great charter guide who gave us a great experience.
All the people in the area were very open and welcoming and ready to answer any questions or just to visit and share a beer and more than a few crawfish :-)

Loved it!! Great location to my fishing spots.. staff was friendly and extremely accommodating. Can't wait to book the next trip and tell my friends who are looking for me to quit looking cuz "I'm on vacation."
Rented a camper for a night, price was really reasonable $50 rent(1night) and $50 cleaning fee. Just bring food, beverages and your what not, FISHING POLES. Trailer has all stove,, frig,cooking utensils,, bath towels, shower,, beding, cable, stereo radio, picnic table. I enjoyed. RECOMMENDED
We had a great time. Brad was extremely accommodating for our needs and even offered to launch our boat since we towed it with the RV. We booked a boat slip as well which worked out great with the lift giving us peace of mind overnight. Couldn’t be in a better location for south Louisiana fishing. We put the cleaning table to good use. Great people, great rates, great stay.
Margaret and Bradley were great to rent from and work with! They communicated well and were easy to reach, even over a holiday weekend. The Retreat Camper was a gem and very clean and comfortable. Bonus that they also owned the boat slip and fish cleaning station right across the street! Would highly recommend and will look to stay again.
