Danish Alps offers Electric Plus, Electric, Basic and Equestrian Electric Plus campsites.
Danish Alps has 34 gravel pads with electrical hookups and two ADA cement pads with electrical hookups, as well as seven gravel pull-through pads with electrical hookups and one ADA cement pull-through pad with electrical hookups. Electrical campsites are both Electric Plus and Electric campsites. Additionally, Danish Alps offers an equestrian campground with 26 gravel pads that are Electric Plus and three ADA-accessible cement pads with electrical hookups. There are also 22 Basic camping sites. Campers have access to water, modern restrooms and showers.
Camping reservations are available for half of the electrical campsites. All other camping is all first-come, first-served campers register their nightly camping fees in a raised, locked box called an Iron Ranger. Self-service envelopes are provided at each Iron Ranger station. Check or cash only. Iron Rangers are generally located near the park entrance or in the campground area. On-site camping informational signs are provided to help guide campers with the self-registration process.
An equestrian campground offers 14 horse corrals, hitching posts and water. A scenic horse trail encircles most of the lake.
Great place for fishing and kayaking. No live minnows and Nebraska park sticker required.
So very quiet. Lots of room. We stayed in the equestrian area. The dog also enjoyed the quiet. Well definitely go back.
A serene setting for nearly every type of travel trailer imaginable. It's a Nebraska State Park Recreational sponsored area & requires admission fees; slightly higher for
Non-Nebraskan registered & licensed vehicles with annual or and daily permits. Using the mobile website is convenient and easy; one can get help from a NSP Team Member when they're open. Their lake & boat launch appear adequate. They have a fish cleaning area near their dump station but, depending on your site designation, it may be a bit of a travel within the recreation area.
A note for day trips, particularly two wheeled AND open air (convertible) transportation, minimize your unpaved miles by using their northern entry through Hubbard. Taking a shorter, southern approach requires a few miles over graveled & twisting terrain.
This is a great spot for primitive camping, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and more.
If you're into cold-weather camping, the primitive camping spot is great. The bathrooms stay fairly warm and there is water by the pavilion.
Great spot! We'll be back in the springtime.
