Place is awesome plenty of spots even on the holiday weekend
The knolls is the best! You can do every type of ohv riding out there!
Great riding - either your side-by-side, 4x4, or your bike! what a blast we had either day OR night riding! We rode out to Jeep-henge and then just all over the sand dunes to the almost salt flats. and it was cool at night. We loved camping with our family. You have to have a pan for your camp fires so be prepared to bring one and a broom to sweep all the sand - but other than that - enjoy the desert!
Gravel roads run for a good while. Plenty of dry, level spots along the road. Great parking areas. I like to go "Primitive", so I decided to head out into the desert. Wanted to camp near the "Jeep Memorial". I parked about a hlf mile from it near a wind break. All alone and not a soul this time of year. December 10, 2022, Layered up and slept like a baby in my Big Agnes sleeping bag. The 360° views were spectacular. Previous snowfall with some melting caused some slick spots. If you like drifting, I guess this is your time to go. I drive a Jeep Gladiator. This was a stopping overnight point for my next location.
