From jct Hwy 41 & McDonald St in town: Go 4 blocks W on McDonald St, then 1/2 mi N on Holtwood Way.
We had a great riverfront site. Prices are reasonable. Staff were great. Only negative was the trains go by about 3 times a day and are generous with the horn even at 5 AM.
Love it here, down home staff, Barb is an absolute please to meet. One of the best maintained parks I've ever been to. biggest sites you'll ever see, excellent river sites on the Oconto River. Really well priced for everything! Golf cart rentals onsite, and they can be driven to town. I would definitely go back. One caveat: there is a train with long whistle blows.
We had a site on the river. It wasn't obvious how to park. But after we did, it was one of the best views we have had. We stayed four nights during the week. It was quiet. Nobody seemed to enforce any rules. The showers are coin-operated, and the showers and laundry were new and clean. We did laundry while we were there. I would stay again!
It is a well-kept up and clean campground. Lots of RV's and campers you can't next to a creek we can go fishing or going down in a boat canoe inner tubes very nice place
We booked two nights here on a last-minute trip. When booking I asked for a river front site. We were told the campground was going to be full for the weekend. We had three empty sites on the river near us all weekend. There were no tags hanging on the post showing anyone had them reserved. When we got to town we saw signs for a Fly In event at the airport. The sites are small with little or nothing between them. By Friday night, it looked more like a trailer court than a campground. We had young kids from neighboring campers knocking on our camper and running off. There was no supervision from parents who were close enough to hear these kids. After several times knocking on our camper, my wife was able to catch them. She told them to stop and stay in their own site. Shortly after that, we heard something hit the side of our camper, so we ran outside. We found a frisbee lying next to our camper, and the same kids headed for their camper. We walked over with the frisbee and had a quick discussion with the parents about what happened. They really didn't seem to care. I read other posts prior to booking, and the comments made are misleading. We have camped all over the United States and have never had a problem like this. If you are traveling/vacationing and looking for a quiet campground, this isn't it. The location along the river could be very nice. This is more like a trailer park than a campground. Look at my pictures.
