Longest covered bridge in MN. Although it's not very old (built in 2007), it still gives good vibes of bridges of the past. Since it's part of a trail, it's well kept, and has some other art by the entrance that is very interesting as well.
Great trailhead! The restrooms are large and well kept. This part of the trail was a later extension of the original trail, so it added a third restroom equipped trailhead to the Lake Woebegone Trail system. There are picnic tables and bike racks. The parking is roomy. Holdingford itself is one of the more charming small towns we have been to. We rode from Albany to Holdingford. Lots of pretty countryside to look at. Upon entering the town you are greeted by a quaint looking covered bridge. Lots of fun to ride through. Just past the bridge is one of the more unique sculptures I have seen. As an artist it was worth a trip in itself.
Best biking in the state is from Albany to bowlus and this is right in the middle.
This a very nice trailhead for the Lake Wobegon Trail. We used the restrooms and picnic tables. We parked here and biked the trail NE to the Blanchard Dam over the Mississippi river. The covered bridge is a short few blocks from here in the other direction. Main street is a block away and worth a visit. We will return in time for the Fall colors.
