It was easy to register online for a site. We have a 30ft camper and it fit just fine. You better CHECK IN prior to going to your site before Wes gets to you. He was pretty rude about it since my husband and I have only been to camp sites where you book it online and never have to check in. They said "it's just like checking in to a hotel." We already paid for our site and pulled into the camp site at 3:50pm. We had no idea we had to check in. Being treated like were an idiot was uncalled for. The bathrooms had little nats flying around, so taking a shower had to be quick as well since the windows were left open.
Our kids had a great time though, as did we. They have trails you can hike or bike on. It was too cold for us to go swimming, but the lake looked amazing! Everyone around was very friendly and helpful as well. Quiet time started at 1030pm, which was great. We had a campfire pit and a nice picnic table too. It was family friendly and a nice camp site to go to. You also have to go by the office to do your dumping from your camper, which wasn't bad at all. Overall, I'd recommend this camp site.
We are from New Ulm and this is my favorite local campground only 45 minute drive. Very well maintained, decent size lots, just a walk to the swim beach and trails.. Just an all around awesome campground. The caretakers are both amazing and wonderful every time we have camped so dont let the bad reviews scare you.
There is much friendlier places to spend your time at and spend your money at. The public park gay very rude, over board care team, seems like a deffanat alcoholic who is either drunk or sober needing a drink. If you go further North In the state, people are how you expect them to be. Law Enforcement/Sheriff Deputies and not game and wildlufe park rangers, like to stick there nose into just normal everyday things, they have no right engaging in. Don't waist your money here, there are like a 1000 better spots in Minnesota to enjoy then this for our local people mentality.
I have always loved camping here. I camp in a tent with no electricity and there is always a spot or two. Site 13/14 are a little bit off the main road but offers plenty of space for the kids to play and plenty of privacy. Very good administrators and a lot of wood for $5 per bucket.
