We are currently staying at Sun Outdoors downtown OOB. I don’t normally do reviews as everything is usually okay. The first time staying there all staff were friendly, etc. We don’t mind the rules and they are put in place for good reasons. Our biggest and only complaint so far over these past two years is the unfriendliness of the older man who opens the gate for people in the evening. He is miserable and yelled at us twice this evening regarding “watching the gate” and to “drive slowly”. Both were said to us out of hostility. There was a vehicle in front of us both times and he didn’t say anything to them. We weren’t going fast as IT’s a CAMPGROUND with 100’s of kids. It was uncalled for and condescending. We probably won’t come back and we are dreading going through that gate over these next couple of days. I even tried to wave when we first pulled up this evening (sun august 20th) and he snarled and that’s when he yelled “watch the gate”. The lady that checked us is was wonderful, but I’m sorry that unfriendly man has to go.

$10 dollars for amenities. They closed the pool and hot tub and still charge the $10?? I asked what amenities I am getting and they said the bathhouse and the 2 bars of wifi that I am using to write this. Not honest on the website. Premium campsite is just a tent site. The website says it has electric but the woman on the phone said no? (after we paid and showed up on site) My friends paid more for a dirt site because the website was misleading. They offered to let them move for an up-charge. My rv site has full hookup at least…but no amenities since I have a self contained camper.

Great campground! The only thing that wasn't good, not enough working laundry facilities. Other than that we had a great time. Walking distance to the beach.

Not our favorite place. So MANY rules. Campfires out by 11. No dogs in tents. Speed limit is 5 1/2 ? The staff was friendly. When there was a lifeguard by the pool he was on his phone not looking at the pool at all. The staff attempted the keep the “comfort stations” clean but in multiple restrooms the toilets were clogged and there was toilet paper all over the floor all throughout our 4 day stay. The proximity to the ocean was nice however so many drawbacks that’s why it gets 2 stars.

We stayed 5 days. We had a great time, and the staff were very accommodating. We were able to add an extra day (last minute), and they also gave us a late check out (also last minute) with the late check out we were able to stay until 6 pm to use the pool and get lunch one last day! The bathrooms and showers were decent. The pool and hot tub were amazing. Arcade wasn’t great, but there’s so much to do in town anyways which is 2 minutes away. You can walk to OOB or take the trolley there and back. I honestly didn’t know fires had to be out by 11. We didn’t have ours out by 11, but didn’t have any problems. Other campers were respectful at night and in the mornings with noise levels.

A couple thoughts though. It is so dark in there at night. With kids running around they should have some street lights. The picnic tables could also use a wipe down after check out. I cleaned ours and it was really dirty. The only bad experience we had was pulling I. Our first night. We booked a deluxe spot, but one wasn’t available our first night, so we had to move our site Saturday morning. (No big deal) but that first site was very hard to back into with a 32 foot camper + a big truck, and right across the street was a tree we had to work around to try to back into, and the spot was on a down hill slope, so that took us 25 minutes just to get into. Other wise our deluxe site was pull through, and level!

We will definitely be back. I’d love to take advantage of that fall special they run. My son wants to go back for his birthday, and if we can make the 5 hour drive I’ll def book with them again
