We discovered this place back in June and fell in love with it!!! Amazing sites, water views are incredible and the place is extremely well taken care of. We couldn't ask for a more laid back, friendly place to go on the weekends. Everyone we have met including the staff are awesome!!! We cant wait for the weekends to come just to head to what we are now calling our second home for relaxation, fun and adventures! Such a great place. Honestly there are no bad views from any of the sites... We want to thank the entire staff for what you are building here it is just the best!!!
Hester's Bottoms is a hidden gem! Our site had a gorgeous view of Lake Strom Thurmond. If we had lake toys such as kayaks, paddle boards, etc., this site would have been an excellent access for some fun lake time.
We felt like we were in the middle of the woods on our site. We could not see the other campsite on either side of us - it's not like we were camping in a trailer park, we were in the middle of the wilderness.
The day before we arrived, we received a phone call saying that they had a waterline issue. My wife and I were very impressed with how the situation was handled. They did everything they could to accommodate us. We were even given a golf cart to ride to the bathhouse.
Hester's Bottoms is an excellent campground - I would highly recommend it!
This place hands down is the best camping place I’ve ever been to. Wi-Fi is excellent, they have extenders if your site isn’t getting great Wi-Fi… they have 24 hour ice vending machine. The general store sells beer and groceries. I highly recommend renting the golf cart ( so much fun ) , and kayak. Staff are the friendliest people you will ever meet . We stayed on site 15 , gorgeous lake view!!!Best trip ever!!!!
Can't say enough good things about this camp site!! Absolutely amazing!! Fro starters I feel like I barely paid anything for one of the best family vacations i have ever taken!! I definitely got my moneys worth and then some!! Everything was super clean, no trash anywhere, restrooms that were clean and easily accessible, and the beach was perfect for my little ones! Had site 38, pull through, power and water hookups were in working order. Laundry room, general store with everything you'd need and more, amazing staff that went above and beyond, just a super great awesome experience for me and my family as this was our first ever adventure. Camp hostess was so sweet!! I felt so safe and comfortable, not one issue at all! Ground was level so no need for leveling much, fire pits and large tables at every site, playgrounds, a center area with tables and oversized games, and they even have golf carts for easy travel around the park. They are pet friendly and next time I'm gonna bring my dogs lol. I loved every moment I was there and hated to leave. Me and my family will be going back again soon and recommending to all my travel friends in Alabama!!!
