Very family oriented. Planned activities for the kids. Swimming for the entire family. The staff is helpful. The resident campers are friendly and courteous. A great place to spend time with your loved ones!
We had a great camping trip here. They could have been more accommodating with a late checkout. I believe it was $10 per hour for late check out. Dogs are everywhere. All dog owners were responsible. No pitbulls or other guard dog breeds like dobermans and Rottweilers. Crafts, bingo and other campground activities were scheduled on the weekend we camped. Campsites are nice and big. Plenty of room for a 34 ft bumper pull.
We have vacationed here MANY times and have never had a problem… after encountering Kathy we won’t be going back. I booked 4 sites 2 months in advance, called 2 days after their 10 day grace period for them to tell me no credit would be issued. We stayed all our original days but another member of our party had to leave 1 day early. Kathy informed us, because we didn’t call 10 days before check in, and only called 8 days before no refund will be issued. I wasn’t even asking for a refund, I was willing to take store credit, because I never want to take away from a business. And on top of it even asked me to come back tomorrow to deal with it because she was busy with check ins… our friends were leaving @6am. Not something anyone wants to deal with that early. On top of it, all pricing was messed up, charged 3 sites with an extra night as well, absolutely no courtesy or understanding from Kathy what so ever ….we probably won’t be coming back which is sad because we have always loved this place
I am 32 years old, Ive been going to Happy Acres since I was 5. I've been to many campgrounds however none have the Vibe or feel as this one. This one always has had a special place, Eating Brats all day while racing my Bike down the Gravel Hill and Swimming in the pool to enjoying the quiet night ,EVEN with a full camp ground of hearing laughing and crackling firewood. During Oshkosh or other Airshows planes seem to Actually do fly overs of the place aswell! As a kid There was a time where a WW2 P51 Mustang Buzzed the Lake, and it was so Low I could actually see my reflection in its stainless body! This place truely set the bar for me, and has me as an Adult looking forewards to Brats, Playing (Now) Retro Games that I played as a kid and Realizing how old Ive gotten by getting winded on the hill! haha. I love this place.
We have camped at Happy Acres many times and are usually pretty happy with them. This past weekend the staff were unusually rude. To be fair they were teenagers and young adults who are probably still learning communication skills but they were rude just the same. Normally I would give this place a 5 star review. It is a very family friendly environment with lots of things for kids and adults. The campgrounds are clean and most if not all have power and water amenities.
