Gecko Campground is the largest campground in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area. It consists of a north loop and a south loop. These loops are paved roads and offer numerous vault toilets.
Access to the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area is best made along Highway 78 located East of Brawley, California. Turn onto Gecko Road and the campground is located on the left hand side of the road.
this is the first pad at gecko road very flat hard packed sand good for 2wd easy parking, Glamis, It's a sand thing!

This was my first time on Gecko road and it was awesome, all the people were vary nice and helpful. If was more like a big family on the sand . I will be going back
