Stayed back in April of 2022, finally getting around to a review, and fully enjoyed my stay here. The decorative cabins were clean, simple, and were all we needed for a comfortable stay. Cosby campground decided to close during certain months, and we were left with no place to go late in the evening. The host at this place were more than welcoming, super friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. We really enjoyed talking with the camp host, and he even showed us upcoming cabins he was personally building for the near future. As someone who primarily tent camps, I would give up the tent and come back here and get one of these neat little cabins to stay. Had a nice relaxing time in between days of hiking.
This is a hidden gem. We were so happy to see a spacious campsite and hear the waterfall right outside of our camper. The hosts greeted us and were very helpful. The covered porch area was an awesome place to relax and watch the wildlife not to mention the great convenience of the outdoor kitchen there. The stairs to the river made an awesome place for our dogs to dip their toes in the water. Thank you Jay and Thea for the wonderful stay.
The only good thing about this place is the creek. The cabin we rented was dirty, smelled bad and the bunk beds were not made nor was any sheets to make them in the cabin. Grass was overgrown and the area was cluttered. Would not recommend this place
If you are not white DO NOT STAY AT THIS CAMPGROUND!!!! My family stayed here a while back and were definitely treated badly and discriminated against. My husband is Spanish and so are our children. The man who runs it with his wife watched everything my kids did all day on the cameras. He screamed and cursed at them for taking too long in the restroom instead of talking to me about it and letting me find a solution( there is 1 bathroom that all of the campers share). Two days before we were supposed to leave the man and his wife came to the pavilion we’re I was with my kids and were complaining about my two 14yo boys. The wife was nice, but her husband started yelling at me about my boys walking across the front of someone’s campsite saying the people are scared now and that the owner of the store next to the campground called him about them being in the parking lot ( which was a lie he was just following them on the cameras) insinuating that they were up to no good. I tried to explain to him that they were playing Pokémon go. They are 14-year-old boys I don’t know why anyone would be scared. I am white and have never experienced discrimination, so I didn’t realize at first why he was being so nasty towards them because there were other teenagers walking around in the campground that he had no problem with. I told him we could speak like adults and resolve whatever issues, but he continued to yell at me like a child , so I returned the same energy. He didn’t like it very much so he called the cops on us. He thought the cops were going to kick me out, but they couldn’t because I did nothing wrong, and I paid. I did agree to leave, and the owner gave me my money back. Finally, after everything settle down, I realized exactly why he was treating them poorly. He just assumed that they were up to no good because of the color of their skin. This is the first review I’ve ever done. I just felt the need to warn other families before you find yourself in the same situation.
The Tiny Home we stayed in was clean (except the trash wasn't taken out from the previous guest so that was gross) and the appliances were new...other than that I have nothing good to say. There was road noise, the hot tub was not at all private and the owners were slow to respond to my questions and eventually just stopped responding at all. I requested a later check-out because I knew I'd be hiking at 10am, was told it might be possible but then I called twice, left a voicemail, and emailed three times to get confirmation and never got it. I ended up having to completely change my plans. I was also charged a pet fee that I was told would be refunded, since I didn't bring a pet, but it never was. I won't be going back.
