Could be very nice but it's ran down and not well cared for, I was a bit scared staying there.

We stopped here for an overnight on the way back home, just to break up the trip. I think this is a hidden gem, and we were pleasantly surprised.

My better half is an avid birder, and there is a ton of great birdwatching going on here. We were able to spot a good variety of avians here:

Yellow-headed blackbirds

Seagulls

Sparrows

Plain ol’ blackbirds

the odd Hawk

Pelicans

The park is situated at the end of a rough dirt road, but the bumps along the way are worth it. Pulling into the park, check-in was pretty straightforward, and you’ll find no electronics here. Everything is done the old-fashioned way, with paper, pencil and cash. Note: be sure to bring cash, as they don’t accept checks or credit cards. There is a small store selection with the essentials such as canned goods, aspirin, firewood, etc. The park hosts are the friendly sort, and even lent us their binoculars when ours met an unfortunate situation.

Four Seasons Campground and Resort is good no-frills stopover as part of a long trip. There is a boat launch available as well, so if you are an angler, you might be interested in staying here a few extra days to get in a bit of fishing on Sprague Lake. The only downside is the 7.5 miles of unpaved washboard to get there. Take it slow and easy (about 10 mph), and you should be fine, though.

Beautiful lake view. Beautiful sunrise view. And also sunset. And the train is right behind you, we liked it, but it’ll wake you up. Haha.

Beautiful lake for fishing and small boats. Nice camp areas. The downsides are the lack of service in the bathroom and portapottys. The train is riggt behind the campground. They need a privacy hedge or something to dampen the noise.
