About Campground

Falling Waters State Park features Falling Waters Sink, which is a 100-foot deep, 20-foot wide cylindrical pit into which flows a small stream that drops 73 feet to the bottom of the sink. The water's final destination remains unknown.

Only a few miles south of I-10, the park provides travelers with a quiet, serene stop on their journey and is a great place for camping near Gainesville. Visitors can see beautiful native and migrating butterflies in the butterfly garden, take a dip in the lake or have a family picnic. Hikers can experience the verdant, gently sloping landscape of north Florida.

Beautifule sight to see & experience the waterfall at moderate flow after a couple days of rain. It was worth a 1.5 hour drive. We were able to bring our dog on a leash. There are several short trails, plenty of hills.

This is such a lovely place. My husband and I visited on our way to Panama City Beach. Would have been better had there been more water but it was beautiful all the same. Would love to come back in the spring after a good rain.

I found another jewel tucked away. Waterfalls are one of my go-to sites. I haven’t been to many, but thoroughly enjoyed the ones I have seen.

Even though the water level was extremely low, it didn’t take away from the beauty of the surroundings.

I was told by some locals that April -August were the best times to visit with lots water and rain for the falls.

As for the lake, it’s not the loveliest water. But for the area, it’s a gem. There are plenty of opportunities for some beautiful photos of the lake at different locations & angles as you walk the trail.

Finally, restrooms are critical if I need one. The restrooms here were very clean and nice.

Pretty cool little hidden attraction here in Chipley. Very large sinkholes were interesting to see. Some nice views here. A well maintained forest good for camping and hiking if you would like. Very nice trails.

Such a lovely little campground! Had site 003 and I think it was the best spot there!!! Restrooms were large, clean and ample space for toiletries with hangers and benches. Loved the hike, lake was beautiful. Camp host friendly and pleasant!
