About Campground

Welcome to Firelight Camps where we create a revitalizing, comfortable, and stylish camping experience. Pitched on the grounds of La Tourelle Resort and Spa in Ithaca, New York, these platform tents are furnished with hardwood floors, a king or queen bed with plush linens and safari-inspired furniture. Each tent includes a private balcony for soaking in the natural beauty with a good book, mug of coffee or a cocktail. You are greeted in the morning with a complimentary, locally-sourced continental breakfast served in the tented lobby. The camp store carries homemade s'mores kits. Otherwise, guests dine out or at The Bistro at La Tourelle or John Thomas Steakhouse, both on the grounds. During the day, you are invited to unwind on the surrounding trails of Buttermilk Falls State Park, in a hammock under the forest canopy or with a treatment at August Moon Spa (a short walk from your tent). For the adventurous, you can explore the Finger Lakes' famed vineyards, waterfalls and restaurants- or stay on the grounds for dinner at John Thomas Steakhouse. We spark the campfire at sundown, while a complimentary tasting awaits you at the bar. And as always, a homemade s'mores promise to sweeten the company of friends, family and new faces. Their newly renovated bath house is located just 400 ft from your tent. You'll find hot showers with changing rooms and full-length mirrors, flushing toilets and ample space to make yourself feel refreshed. Showers and bathrooms stalls are unisex, though there are two full, private bathrooms for those seeking more comfort. For your convenience, we provide local eco-friendly shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion and laundered towels.

We stayed in a king suite with electricity, so it was a large space with lights, places to plug in our electronics, etc. Wifi is throughout the camp. If you get a tent without electricity they have lots of places to plug your electronics in at the main tent. The staff was friendly. The space is very peaceful. I definitely recommend it. Also, do the morning yoga.

At first I was a little put off by the location (behind a small hotel/spa), but once you go down the hill, it's a beautiful piece of property. The staff was so nice, helpful & accommodating. Once inside our tent...WOW! The beds are comfortable, warm blankets with an extra blanket in the trunk. We had the heated tent & the heat kept it very comfortable at night. Patio on the back of the tent looked out into the woods & was very private. We did have tents on either side of us & overall it was quiet. Free breakfast was local juices & yogurt, fruit, bagels & jellies/butter/cream cheese & hard boiled eggs. The bar had decent drinks & pretty good prices. Mama Hand Pies were served on Wednesday & a local pizza truck on Thursday & all the food was good (a little pricey though). On Thursday was a art show w/ music...only complaint was that it was opened to the public (lots of kids running around unsupervised) which made it busy & if you wanted a fire pit, you had to get there sooner rather then later otherwise you will not have a place to sit (fire pit seating should be for paying guest only...NOT for the outside public). I give this place 4 out of 5 stars!!

This is a great way to feel like you're camping without having to pitch a tent. It's maybe a tad too close to the road (noise), but the breakfast is great, the firepits are lovely, the bath house is clean and the beds are really comfy. The little porch in back of the tent is superrelaxing. Good hiking close by.

This place is cool, the breakfasts were decent, good cocktails, the staff is nice BUT I hate hearing cars drive by while camping….. all I want to hear is nature

The camp is settled behind a hotel off the main road so you hear all the cars driving by ruining the cool ambience.

Overall nice glamping spot tho.

I love this place. I recommend it for a stay. It is a bit pricey but so worth it. The tents are huge ,clean and comfy. They provide a heater for cooler nights. There is a fire pit . You can purchase alcohol on the premises and drink it while walking on the premises. It had a great breakfast. There are other items for purchase. The bathrooms are unisex. Very clean and well maintained.

This was one of the best night of our holiday
