Our story begins with a little old lady, our grandma, who believed with all her heart that we were worth it. She passed a few years ago, and what better way to honor her belief in us than to create Ethel's Hideout. We came from a ranching family, which has brought us closer than we ever imagined. Hard work and dedication were imprinted on us from a young age. On this land we have built an RV pull-through and horse stalls. Ethel's is your home away from home. Our unique RV park is comfortably tucked away to provide a quiet stay away from the crowds. We have only 5 RV spaces and 5 tent sites. RV spaces have water and electric hook ups, tent sites are dry camps, with water access at the community barn. You will never feel crowded. We border agriculture land, sate and public lands which provides an authentic western experience. Though tucked away to give the illusion of seclusion, we are located only 5 miles from downtown Kanab Utah. Kanab features many fun and exciting events throughout the year. Located right in the heart of several national parks, Zions, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Lake Powell and many more fun things to tour. Our most unique feature is horse stalls on site. Bring your horses with you and reserve stalls for them as well. Our convenient location offers direct access to ride on public lands. Traveling with horses? We have just the spot with(8) 12′ x 14′ covered stall. Contact us to book stalls for your horses to stay over night with you.
Owners are a mother daughter pair. Super helpful and on top of things. Cant beat the view either. It’s just crazy that the place is so close to town but you you feel like your in another world, so quiet, no crowds. Tons of room to explore.
Very beautiful here and it’s nice and quiet! Feels like you are camping off grid. It’s also close to some top bucket list places to see, like the Grand Canyon, Zions National Park, Lake Powell, etc. The owner is very kind and helpful. 10/10 will be staying there again!
5 pull thru RV sites with H2O and electric hookup only. No dump station or dumpster. Rustic tent sites as well with port-0-potty. Owner is kind and knowledgeable about the area and lives on ranch off in the distance. Check in booth has waivers, yard dice, dominos, and maps of the area. Very quite and dark campsite. You can see the Milky Way. Public land access from camp ground and you can hike up the butte following some of the OHV trails. View from the top is spectacular (2.5 miles round trip hike). Oh and you can’t smell the horse stalls they are very well kept.
Located on the side of a grade. Rv sites are terraced down. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Cool breezes. Safe. Clean. Close to Fredonia and Kanab. Owner checked on us every day to make sure all was well. Very friendly. If I am in the area again I will stay here away from the crowds.
We were so happy to have found this campground! We prefer quiet and spacious sites over crowded RV parks. Ethel’s Hideout felt like remote camping while still hooked up to water and electricity… the best of both worlds. Access to Kanab is 5 minutes down the road and there are so many adventures to have in the area. The views from the campground were awesome during the day and the night sky was even more beautiful without any intruding city lights! The peace and quiet afforded by the area made for an excellent sleep. Plus the owners were so lovely and welcoming. We feel like we stumbled on a hidden gem with this campground!
