Totally worth it!! It's a 1.8mile one way hike to Emerald lake. Lake was frozen. On the way you ll see bear lake, dream lake, nymph lake. Please use spike shoe or trekking boots. snow boots wasn't necessary. Layering is essential. Please take your time and hike.. At least you need 2.5 hrs plus to complete the round hike . Plus to enjoy the views

This was our last trail we did during our hiking adventure in Rocky Mountains National Park in Colorado. We hiked in mid October and actually got to so see snow flurries! I gotta say to hike with temperatures in the 30s is not for everyone but we did and enjoyed it so much! In order to avoid crowds we got to the park at 8:00 am. Most people were arriving about 10:00 am because of the cold weather but it was perfect for us Floridians 😃

Emerald Lake is more flat than other trails we hiked and smaller round that sits at the base of a bowl of peaks that wraps around on three sides. But nevertheless, it was just as beautiful and a perfect end to the three lake hike.

We thoroughly enjoyed nature and had so much fun! 😃

beautiful views from every direction. it is a difficult hike so i recommend getting cramp-ons if you do it in the snow. it’s a few miles but certainly worth the work
