From Georgetown, head northeast on Main Street/Wentworth Springs Roadd toward Orleans Street. Continue to follow Wentworth Springs Road for 17 miles and cross the dam at Stumpy Meadows Lake. Continue 1 mile to the campground.
We had a great time there. Lots of room for tents. A nice hike to the lake. Our group had fun playing games and cooking. There is no running water so be sure to bring plenty. We recommend this place for a nice get away. Lots of deer in the area.
Honestly this campsite was perfect for what we needed! A big open space for a lot of tents, and everyone was able to spread out enough and have space. Plenty of grills and tables to have a big camp style breakfast together or separate. The dirt is very fine, so it gets dusty but hey don't go into the woods if you aren't ok with dirt!! Only downside was you have to drive to the water(can't very well bushwhack a trail with littles!) But even that was only like 5 min!
Went with my family and in 15 years of camping it was by far the worst camping trip yet . They kicked us out the the next morning no warning just sayed we were to loud . Very unprofessional establishment . All it took was for them to tell us to quiet down one time. Took our money and out annual camping trip . If you like to have a good time with family I would pick another spot . And the bathrooms stunk up most the camp site .
Such a beautiful peaceful place! Could see the lake from the camp site but you drive about 3 minutes to the lake, best to plan to be out there for awhile. There are bears but we had children and were perfectly comfortable.
We camped here on 08/04/2018 at unit 4. Its a pretty big campsite with ample space to park 8 cars. The toilets were clean and not smelly. Although there were less trees near the grill and fire pit area, but at night we had an amazing view of the sky 🌌 Could clearly see the Milky Way right from our campsite. There’s also a 15 minute hike to a beautiful lake. We had so much fun here. Best for big groups.
