We had a great time. The owners were friendly and patient. This was my first time riding a horse so I chose to wear a helmet but you don't have to if you prefer not to. Sarah was a great trail guide. The horses are very gentle and very well cared for. If you're looking for a nice and relaxing horseback trail ride I highly recommend the Double J Stables.

We had a wonderful ride! The horses were all very sweet and had their own personalities! We were able to pet the horses before and after the ride and all were very friendly and great with our kids. The trail guide Sarah and the owner were both very nice and helpful. The ranch was very pretty and the horses had lots of space!

A beautiful sprawling ranch with healthy and happy horses, wonderful owners, excellent trail guides, a clean campground, rustic touches, an event venue, and the friendliest horses ready to give you a horseback ride through the backcountry trails of Mammoth Cave National Park. This is not a tourist trap that overworks their horses with rides. You can rest assured that Double J takes the utmost care of their horses, keeps trail rides to a small group, and only offers a handful of daily rides to allow their animals to rest and relax. And they have the cutest little carrot garden to feed the horses a snack!

We drove down from Louisville just to ride here!! I booked the two hour guided trail ride for my 8 yr old son and myself. The owners and staff went above and beyond to make sure our experience was top notch. Trails were very well kept. Horses were GORGEOUS and in excellent shape. We felt safe and got to know our horses as we rode. You could just tell they take pride in their entire being. We will be back to camp next time!! It was well worth the drive. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Bring carrots for feeding after the ride if you want to hear all the horses whinny before you leave!! Such a magical place!

Such a great place with some truly incredible people! My wife and I came down from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania for a guided horseback tour of the grounds, and were absolutely blown away! It was my first time horseback riding and the folks at Double J Stables made me feel confident and comfortable every step of the way! Our incredible guide, Sarah, had an answer to any question we could ask and taught us so much about the area. Our horses, Doc and Fritz were so excellently trained while still overflowing with personality! Every single aspect of the experience couldn't have been more perfect! When I find myself in the area again, you can bet without a doubt that I will be returning for another tour with the amazing Double J Stables. Highly recommend!
