Love this reservoir. Nice trout fishing both above and below the reservoir. The drive here is beautiful. It's a curvy drive with beautiful photo opportunities. It's out of the regular rush of traffic and it's not unusual to see wildlife in this area. Elk, bear, mountain lion etc. They have several areas for camping and have outdoor toilets.
Great place to get out of the city and enjoy the beautiful scenery in the area!
Tarryall itself is one of my all time favorite places to camp... the reservoir is huge... individual spots for spending the day with tables... they have restrooms, definite plus... the dock where the boat ramp is, is nice to chill on when people aren't crowded around... fishing, hiking, paddle board... ice fishing when the water is frozen... can even see a bald eagle if you are lucky... look around and enjoy the beauty of nature... another beautiful drive in Colorado
