Took a long time to get to, parking was a nightmare and it was very overcrowded. The hike was very easy and there were a lot of ugly industrial things ruining the trail, like concrete benches and weird concrete paths. Not my usual kind of thing. The forest and view was beautiful though and it's worth seeing once. I wouldn't go again, but I'm glad I went once.

Only sharing because my husband and I spent our last day here for our honeymoon & really just wanted to camp in the forest and be secluded, which is our favorite thing in the world. The website is misleading and doesn’t tell you that the entire campsite and hiking trails are designated towards dirt bikes and ATVs. The trails are entirely gravel because they are meant for motor vehicles and we didn’t find one good hike that wasn’t over taken by dirt bikes spraying us with gravel. Don’t recommend unless you have a dirt bike or ATV and come here to ride. Definitely not for hiking. Find somewhere else

& even if you find a nice campsite which we did we had people riding their dirt bikes through it all day until they couldn’t anymore. Not my idea of forest bathing. We are from Oklahoma and we had a hard time navigating the recreation.gov website so I’m only sharing so others know beforehand, we obviously didn’t

Man, you gotta go as early as possible if you want a spot, but those spots are worth the fight. The view at the top of the hike is unreal

Stayed mid week in August, had entire place to ourselves. Very scenic. 9 mi dirt road in was a little bumpy but very doable in SUV. Catch the gas station before leaving town as nothing really close, that we saw. At the campsite the vault toilet is especially nice on the upper loop, the lower loop is currently closed. You can still camp and see the lookout, though. Oh, and tons of really nice looking ATV trails all throughout the area, but none in this campsite when we went. Will def be returning.
