Love the restrooms so clear and smells nice, camp host very professional and peaceful
Beautiful camp site with access to the river (great fishing and even good swimming). The camp host here, Paul, was really kind. He helped us switch camp spots and he takes really good care of the campsite, providing fly tape and air fresheners and even putting little solar lights in the restroom at night. He may make you a good deal on wood if you buy several bundles!
This is a beautiful spot! I've driven past here numerous times but never camped. The sites are clean and the restrooms were clean as well. There is a water tank but no well water or spigots. The camp host was really nice and the campground is very well taken care of. You're right on the water next to a good tubing and swimming spot. The overlook hike starting in the campground next to site 6 is easy and fun. We had four groups in the walk-in sites on the far end. My only complaints and therefore the four star rating are that it's so close to the road that the traffic is loud. Boy Scout Camp Alexander is just up the road and there are busses, trucks, and other vehicles headed there. Anglers get up at the crack of dawn and therefore there's traffic at 4:45 a.m. The sites are also one big pad with the fire pit and picnic table, so unless you have a small tent and plan on having a fire, you'll have to find another spot to put your tent. We ended up on a fairly sloped spot. I would come back but I think Springer Gulch is probably more quiet.
This was a wonderful place to stay. The views were beautiful, there was easy river access, and we all enjoyed the open space for hiking. The camp spots were a bit small, and the bathrooms were only partially kept tidy, but the fire pits were large, and it wasn’t a long walk to get anywhere. My only complaint would really be the lack of shade in the area, but some hammocks and a canopy quickly fixed that. The wildflowers in the area were beautiful, as was pretty much everything else. I will definitely be staying here again
