Hello, this is my first summer open to the public so feedback is very utilized.
Hello, my name is Joe and I live here at Christmas Tree Ridge. For the most current listings and cheapest prices look at my page on HipCamp. This beautiful 5 acre canvas overlooks the Tahuya Valley to my south and is propped on the edge of a deep gullie to the East. Long ago this whole hillside farmed Christmas trees. Valley Lookout is a first year clearing up at the top of the plot with no power or water hookups. Same for West Perch. However, if you just want an power cord and your tanks filled for the night you would have to park down at the lower drive area near my utilities.
Pros:
\-ORV trails all around.
\-Borders state land, hunter's verify season.
\-Just broke brush on a trail that connects to the Howell Lake Trail for hiking, biking, motor bike, or horseback year round. Very narrow trail, just cut this year.
\-Wood for burning, not all sites have a fire ring. Ask, I can arrange things.
\-Trash and Recycling on site.
\-Swimming hole at Howell lake is 1 mile via that trail, less then 10min by car.
\-Great views of Moon.
Cons:
\-1 mile long dirt road can get bumpy at times.
\-While a very private place, your going to hear some noise still, locals target shooting now and then, The ocassional loud car, and single engine planes buzzing around.
\-Gully creates steep(over 45 degrees) drop near edge of camp sites. Please keep a safe distance. Be alert when walking around at night.
I don't know why, but no matter how I word this, people still have issues, just call if needed. So, After the right hand turn off the pavement/tar/tarmac/public street, drive .5 miles(west) up to the T, Turn right(east), continue driving, go left at the blue rock(Or just follow signs for 201).
Okay now your on the property. Drive up driveway, If camping at West perch, turn left directly after the greyblue shipping container and continue up the path heading west, If camping at Valley Ridge Lookout, continue up past the red shipping container and across the narrow earth bridge.
Went here because the reviews looked good. Went here to get a tree and avoid the crowds of Orting highway. VERY limited selection! Very few of the trees were pruned! The only section that looked ok was the Douglas fir one, right next to the sales area. I took a picture to share. They might have had 15 trees total to choose from right there. They had some pre cut nobles, but other than that, the selection was terrible. You have to take a wagon ride up a steep hill to get to different tree varieties. None of those other areas were pruned. We saw what they had and couldn't get out of there fast enough!!! Small parking lot. Had to back out.
We have been coming to this tree farm for the past 4 years and it’s the best! We shopped around for the perfect tree farm in the Puyallup Orting area for years and finally found Ohop Ridge tree farm. They are well priced, very festive and have great service. They drive you up the ridge in a cute tractor, they drive your tree down for you, shake it, bail it, and even carry it to your car for you. They also allow pets. We love coming here!
First time at Ohop Ridge. All the people are so nice, very helpful. The trees are very lightly trimmed so you get the natural beauty of the tree, not one that looks like they put it in a sugar cone cutter. Very fair price, kid friendly, and we got to take a picture with Santa. We will see you next Christmas and many more to come. Thanks
Low selection, small parking lot, not trimmed or fertilized, Cox trees MUCH BETTER for the same price. Pictured are ALL of their Douglas firs.
Amazing variety and selection, super wonderful and fun staff. We got a gorgeous Noble 16' for $50.00!!!!! WooHoo
