There are two drive-in campgrounds at Scenic State Park. Chase Point campground is on a hill above the lake which can be accessed by steps that lead to a boardwalk. Non-electric sites in this campground have a moderate screening between sites. The electric sites are more open. Chase Point campground is closest to park office.
21 electric pull-through sites are located in the Chase Point campground. Showers in the Chase Point campgrounds are available from fishing opener until early October
Both campgrounds have sanitation facilities with flush toilets. Flush toilets in the Chase Point campgrounds are available from fishing opener until early October. Flush toilets in the Lodge campground are available Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
Love Scenic park but the camp spots are very uneven on some sites.
Somewhat rustic, semi private campsites with running water bathroom including showers. Friendly park office staff with non motorized boat rentals. Boardwalk alongside Coon Lake was fun for the kiddos to explore and great luck was had at fishing here.
Beautiful, well maintained park. Great trails to hike. Bathrooms clean and the water is hot. Lots of mosquitoes, but it is northern Minnesota
Classic Northwoods experience. Beautiful old growth cedar, red and white pine. Campsites are a bit close together but that makes the walk to the lake a short one. Rental boats, canoes and kayaks available. The hike to Chase point along the glacial esker is beautiful.
One of the nicest state park campgrounds, if not the nicest, I’ve been to. Nice boardwalk along the lake. Could do without the surprise domestic dispute in the middle of the night but that’s obviously not the campground’s fault.
