The Challis Hot Springs is a 5th generation family-owned destination in the Round Valley, home of Challis, Idaho. The property is on the bank of the Salmon River, 70 miles from the headwaters of the “River of No Return.” Our primary amenity is natural odorless hot springs which constantly replenish with continuous freshwater supplied by nature through the river rock bottoms. Most guests enjoy the springs while camping in the RV and tent campground, which features mature trees, and irrigated grass sites, all within a stone’s throw of the Salmon River, which fronts the entire property. Our campground is the perfect location to launch your kayaking or rafting trip, fish for trout and steelhead, or just watch the wildlife. In particular, the herd of Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep frequents the cliffside above the property.

Stayed here three nights. Beautiful, large, level gravel RV sites with grass and shade. Very quiet and dark at night. Mike made us feel very welcome. The large hot springs pool was around 99°, sparkling clean and very comfortable. The smaller hot pool was between 104 and 107 ° . We thoroughly enjoyed or stay and would go back again. BTW, I think there were 38 RV sites and around 20 tent sites.
Beautiful campground- very well kept grassy areas. Fun playground, Horseshoe Pits, hot pools, and very reasonable prices. We loved staying here for our family reunion !!
Now a State Park, but still a fabulous large pool about 102 degrees and a smaller really hot pool. Clean and tidy. Campground includes sites with water and electric and a central dump station. Also dry camping is available. Situated right on the Salmon River in a rural location.
We don't often stay in developed campgrounds, but when we do we want one exactly like this! Beautiful grounds with nice spots (tent spots have nice spacing between them), great views, right on the river, gorgeous forest walking trail, clean restrooms, and of course 2 amazing hot spring pools. The pools are concrete with a nice pebble rock bottom - very clean and well maintained. A nice warm one for hanging out longer, and a separate area for a small hot one that will cook you nicely like a lobster 🦞 ! What an awesome spot to stay for a night or for several days.
