Campground hosts/attendant were extremely rude. The woman at the booth began giving spots away before hours, so hours were inconsistent. When we went up to ask about her giving spots away early (we had been there since 8) she was extremely disrespectful- claiming she was busy.
Don’t post hours and not stick to them. The camp host was also very inconsiderate and rude. Some of the rudest people we’ve ever encountered at a campground. We were left with nowhere to stay because they gave spots away early.
A campground along Carlyle Lake, one of a few. This is a COE site. (America the Beautiful passes accepted) Electric, firepit, picnic table at every site. Water at entrance and scattered throughout the park. Most sites can be reserved, a few are first come, first served. We were on site 28. Water right behind us as well as a look at the lake.
We camped over the 4th of July holiday, and of course, they were busy! We were fortunate enough to get a spot, but most of them are first come, first serve sites. We lucked into a full hook up site. However, there was little shade, but we managed. This is a Corps of Engineers campground and is super clean (they even have someone that comes around and clean the ashes out of the fire-pits). We will definitely be going back!
The attendants are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Clean restrooms and shower houses. They keep the place orderly. It's very clean park to camp at. 🏕
