Requires military ID and only open for Active Duty for camping at this current time. People can use the Day Use with proper identification
From US-101, take the Las Posas Rd exit heading South. -- From SR-1, turn South onto Las Posas Rd. This road will take you to the gate. Once through the gate, continue on Las Posas Rd to the first stop sign. Turn left onto Laguna Rd. Go about .7 miles to the Beach Motel on your left. DO NOT turn onto 16th St in front of the motel, even though there's a sign pointing this direction to the RV park. Instead, go past the motel and park in the dirt lot next to the motel on the left side of the road. Check-in is inside the motel. The La Posas gate is open 0530-1730 M-F. You have to enter the Wood Ave gate (Main gate, open 24Hr) during other times.
The water and waves here are beautiful. Great spot to relax and soak up some sun shine.
Great beach! The beach wasnt too crowded when we went. Just be careful with little ones, the waves form very close to shore and can have a strong current when going back.
The beach is clean and there were not many people around. That is a huge plus. We found a sand dollar and the seagulls wanted us to share our lunch. Great scenery and temperature made for a great afternoon at the beach. The portable restrooms were pretty gross. That is the only reason I gave it 4 stars.
