Caught some nice sized trout. Don't worry, they were released.
There is creek running through this campsite. There is pit toilets available. Camp sites are not as close together as the lower campground.
It's everything a primitive campsite can be. No running water, no bathroom facilities, no vending machines/snack bars, and not too many people around. There was plenty of flat ground for setting up tents. The ground is mostly either dirt road or deep layers of pine needles. It was quiet and peaceful.
Great place to camp. We stayed 3 nights and had the whole place to ourselves. Nice and quiet. Very friendly host. Good central location midway between bishop and Mono Lake.
This is such a great place to camp. Our family has lots of fun playing with the Frisbee and talking walks to the creek with our kids. It's Free camping. Susan the camp host was awesome.
