It’s easy to find a spot, it’s completely flat so good for tents or car camping. It’s a nice place to find some solitude and it’s not too far from the park entrance. It’s good for seeing the Milky Way some nights. Cell service is good with Verizon.
Plenty of space easy to drive where ever. Some interesting characters around and lots of trash but pretty much nothing else. Most space I’ve had to myself while camping, very easy to find a flat spot for a tent.
We camp here everytime we visit Joshua Tree. There is plenty of space to find a spot away from everyone. Close enough to the park and local stores. Enjoy your trip!
Stayed here after spending the day in Joshua Tree. Super spacious so able to have privacy while still being surrounded by other vehicles. Everyone kept to themselves which we appreciated. Will stay here again should we ever return.
I was here for several days and enjoyed it a lot. I mean it is was it is...flat, open desert. I pulled in the area right after you reach the end of the pavement. It was quiet, friendly folks, and most importantly, as a solo female traveler, I felt safe. Left my suitcase solar panels, and generator (chained to the RV stairs) 24/7. No problem.
In some of the pictures, you'll see a beautiful sculpture, called "Transmission". It's just a short drive up Sunfair Rd. (The main road uou turn onto of of 62 to access the BLM land. I felt it was definitely wprth the 10 minute drive to see it. It's pretty spectacular!
