My family and I visited horseshoe bend a couple of weeks ago after camping at lake mcclure the night before. We really liked the scenery and i was excited about going back to camp. The following weekend, my wife and I went back up there and we had a great time. The weather was perfect. The water was glassy. The wildlife was everywhere. The bathrooms were clean. The campsites were quiet. Ranger Null was very knowledgeable about the parks and was able to answer all of our questions. He was very hospitable and outgoing. We were impressed with the staffs service and were very appreciative. Cant wait to go back.
Beautiful and peaceful place. Sandy for riding the car and having fun!
We arrived on a Friday afternoon without reservations in June and was surprised to find plenty of available sites, both with and without hookups. We stayed 3 nights in a basic site since we have solar and don't need hookups. The restrooms and showers were great, and the size of the sites are big and most with shade trees. We were able to put a camper Van, SUV towing a toy hauler trailer, and a Harley motorcycle in our site, plus deploy 3 large 13x13 canopies. I'm used to receiving a 50% discount at State and National campgrounds as a disabled senior, however this facility is private and their senior dscount is only $3 off their basic $30 or $40 with hookup per nite fee, but its still reasonable.
