3-peak (mt. Pinos, Sawmill mt.

Grouse mt.: Hiking

This hiking trail, where you can enjoy the warm sunlight of July and the scent of Jeffrey pine pine, starts from the parking lot of Chula Vista C.G. and takes you around three peaks.

This is a 12 mile round trip hiking trail that takes about 4h30m to 5h.

1: 1.5 miles from the parking lot on Mt. Take Pinos (88477ft),

2: Climb Sawmill Mt. (8806ft) and make a wish on the stone tower.

3: Finally climb Grouse Mt. (8573ft)

This hiking trail on the way back is a relatively well-maintained hiking trail. Mt. The views from the top of Pinos and Sawmill Mt. are beautiful in all directions, but from the top of Grouse Mt., you can't see anything due to the tall trees. The approximately 3.2-mile section from the 1.7-mile point Tumamait TH to Grouse Mt. repeats up and down, and the incline is also quite steep. Be sure to bring plenty of water if you hike here, as water is not available on this trail.

There is about 50% shade for this 12-mile section, but the breeze is very cool.

Did you enjoy hiking?

Hiked in here from the Nordic Station and hit the other two peaks on the way. By the time we got here to have our lunch, we were hit with the flies. They were a real nuisance, but all in all, there were nice views with plenty of shade to relax under.
