This is a beautiful spot. It is right next to highway 36 so car noise can be bothersome. I tuned it out. The creek is clear and cool. The trails are close and easy walks through the forest, the old growth trees are further down the road at Cheatham Grove. Shower was hot and worked well. Beware of the payphone. My 30 second call was $20.30 on my cc which took a 20 minute call to have reversed. Total scam from the phone company WiMacTel.

Stayed at the group campground for couple of days. This is a very beautiful spot that is in close proximity to the river and easy hiking trails are near the campground. Even though the highway 36 is near the camp ground, the noise was barely noticeable as there wasn't much traffic after 9pm. On weekends, there were lot of people using the day use area.

Would be a wonderful campground except for the noisy highway that goes right next to it. Large logging and dump trucks rolling all night long. Had to wear ear plugs to sleep. Other than that there is a nice swimming hole and great hikes through ancient giant redwoods. Campsites are roomy and clean. Coin op showers.
